Brock Lesnar has announced his retirement from pro wrestling. But could he be lured back to the Octagon?
At 49, Lesnar would be the oldest fighter on the UFC’s roster — and perhaps among the biggest draws for a circus-like event.
Lesnar, fighting as a heavyweight, was 5-3 as a MMA fighter and 4-3 in the UFC. He beat legendary fighter Randy Couture and got knocked out by the likes of Cain Velasquez.
His UFC career ended in less-than-noble fashion.
Originally a unanimous decision win over Mark Hunt, the 2016 win was overturned after he tested positive for clomiphene, a banned substance. (Keep in mind that UFC greats like Jon Jones and Anderson Silva tested positive for banned substances and after serving suspensions, fought again.)
The UFC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

It is hard to ignore the language in the announcement of Lesnar's retirement after participating in WWE SummerSlam on Saturday, Aug. 1.
“Saturday for Brock Lesnar, that's it,’’ Lesnar said. “That's it for me in the squared circle, and for everything else too."
So maybe it would take some arm-twisting or arm-barring to lure Lesnar into another MMA fight. And there may be no need to go through the UFC.
Last week, Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions partnered with Professional Fighters League to cement MVP’s interest in promoting not only boxing but also MMA. Also, Paul reiterated his interest in making his MMA debut.
