Mating Season is a new adult animated series from the creators of Big Mouth
The show stars Zach Woods, Nick Kroll, June Diane Raphael and Sabrina Jalees

It's Mating Season on Netflix.
The new animated series from the creators of Big Mouth — which debuted on May 22 — takes the adult humor to a forest filled with frisky critters.
The cast is led by Nick Kroll, Zach Woods, June Diane Raphael and Sabrina Jalees, who play a group of forest friends who help each other navigate the animal dating world.
"We really created the main characters with those actors in mind, and wrote them with Nick, Zach, Sabrina and June in mind," Levin told Animation Magazine in May 2026 when discussing the famous names on the show.

Zach Woods as Josh

Woods voices Josh, a bear who finds himself suddenly single when his partner leaves him after he overslept during hibernation season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Josh is flung back into the world of dating, but he also has his friends by his side, a close-knit group that helps him as he tries to find love again.
"When you're laid low by your romantic life, it provides you a point of access to other people who are lonely and struggling or hopeful and struggling," he told Pay or Wait in May 2026. "So I do think those bruises become points of connection when you're with your people."

Nick Kroll as Ray

Kroll plays Ray, a randy raccoon and best friend of Josh.
The Kroll Show star compares Mating Season to other "hangout" TV classics like Friends, Seinfeld and How I Met Your Mother. "There’s always a great version of that show, but hadn’t really been done in animation in the same kind of way," he told The New York Times in May 2026.
"Our main cast are all people we have worked with, and me, in particular, have been friends with for many, many years," Kroll told The Playlist in May 2026. "And much of the extended cast exists that way as well, as it did on Big Mouth."

Raphael voices Fawn, a deer who doesn't have the best taste in bachelors across Mating Season.
During a May 2026 interview with Decider, the Grace and Frankie actress recalled a “really, really bad” experience she had during her dating days.
"Yeah, really bad. Really, really bad,” she told the outlet. “But I remember that feeling of like, oh God, am I going to be okay? Like, is it going to work out for me? Maybe it doesn’t work out for everybody. And some people don’t find romantic love and find other types."

Raphael has been married to actor and comedian Paul Scheer since 2009. The couple has two sons together.

Sabrina Jalees as Penelope

Jalees voices Penelope, a nerdy lesbian fox.
"I think of Penelope as as sort of my origin story," Jalees told Etalk in May 2026. "Like the year that I came out of the closet. You might have seen me ... scooting around on my Razor scooter [on] Young Street, Queen Street, all around Toronto, just trying to get a cutie."

Timothy Olyphant plays a wolf named Dylan McDermott who has "no relation" to the actor of the same name, according to Screen Rant.
Dylan is a lone wolf, who, per Variety, has a fear of commitment and is also an ex of Fawn's.

Annaleigh Ashford voices Addy, a gorgeous goose whom Ray falls for.
"Friends, this is Addy," Ray said when introducing Addy to Josh and the gang in a clip released by Netflix. "To me, she is my girlfriend. Together, we more than like each other. Now you may clap."
Ashford is a Tony-winning Broadway actress who brings some musical theater to Mating Season by performing several numbers, per Variety.
