Princess Eugenie has given birth to her third child with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, in Portugal. On Tuesday, Eugenie took to social media to announce the arrival of her baby daughter, born on Monday, though the child will not recieve a royal title.
The newest royal addition is 15th in line to the throne, nudging the Duke of Edinburgh down to 16th place. Eugenie and Jack are already proud parents to two boys, August and Ernest Brooksbank.
Sharing an adorable photo of the newborn dressed in a pink babygrow and a newborn hat, clutching Jack's finger, Eugenie wrote: "Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie." This comes after Meghan and Harry's daughter, Princess Lilibet, had her favorite food revealed.

Buckingham Palace officially confirmed the happy news, with a statement reading: "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at 6.20pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. The baby was born weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces. Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news."
The Brooksbank family divides their time between the UK and Portugal, where Jack works alongside property mogul Mike Meldman on an upscale coastal development, the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club. Since welcoming her first son, August Philip Hawke, in 2021, Eugenie has upheld her mother's longstanding practice of choosing names connected to Queen Victoria's family tree, reports the Express.

Princess Beatrice was the name given to Queen Victoria's youngest daughter with Prince Albert, and Eugenie's own three names (Eugenie Victoria Helena) reflect this same pattern.

The princess maintained this family naming convention when she embarked on motherhood. August was among the names held by Queen Victoria's consort, Prince Albert, who was baptized as Franz Albert August Karl Emanuel.
This tradition continued with the 2023 arrival of Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank. Ernest was the given name of Queen Victoria's brother-in-law, Duke Ernest of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.
The distinctive name also features in the complete names of royal figures ranging from Prince Alfred through to King George V.
Ernest additionally honors Queen Elizabeth II's grandfather, King George V, and Jack's late father, Jack. Ronnie, in turn, served as the nickname for Sarah Ferguson's father, Major Ronald Ferguson.

At the time of her second son's arrival, Eugenie wrote: "Jack and I wanted to share the news that we had our little boy, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, on 30th May 2023 at 8.49, weighing 7.1lbs. He is named after his great-great-great-grandfather, his Grandpa George and my Grandpa Ronald. Augie is loving being a big brother already."
Princess Eugenie has largely stayed out of the spotlight this year, following the controversy surrounding her parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, over their connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The Princess was last seen publicly in June, when she attended the Cotswolds wedding of her cousin Peter Phillips and his bride Harriet Sperling. She was accompanied by her sister, Princess Beatrice, along with both of their husbands.
