Pink Floyd's legacy continues to live on.

The English rock band marked a major new achievement this week as one of their iconic '70s songs officially surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify.

Over 50 years after its 1975 release, Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" achieved the impressive milestone, officially earning itself a spot in Spotify's "Billions Club."

The band put out "Wish You Were Here" as part of the their 1975 album of the same name. It has since become one of the most popular and beloved songs across the group's entire discography.

The band celebrated the accomplishment in a post shared to the official Pink Floyd Instagram account on Wednesday, Jan. 21.

"Amazing how the message, the legacy and the timeless song reach a billion hearts, it’s beautiful," one user wrote in the comments. "We’re all wishing that somebody was still here. May it impact many more ❤️"

Several other fans said they "contributed massively" to the accomplishment by streaming "Wish You Were Here" over and over again.

It's not the first time one of Pink Floyd's tracks has hit 1 billion Spotify streams over the last 12 months, as "Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2" also surpassed the same milestone early in 2025, becoming the group's first song to do so.

The Pink Floyd Instagram account celebrated the group's official entrance into the Spotify "Billions Club" in February 2025 with the streaming success of "Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2," which the band released on their revered 1979 album, The Wall.
