**This article contains spoilers from *Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.***

Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) might've met his end in *Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man* — the finale film to six seasons of television drama — but is his story really over? After all, Tommy was the gypsy king and he spent many of his final days haunted by the spirits in his head, seeing visions of the loved ones he's lost. In other words, death isn't always the end for a Shelby.

"He may come back," *Peaky* creator Steven Knight tells **. "You know, in *Peaky*, you may come back as a ghost," he adds with a smile.

Although it's clear that Knight is *sort of* joking, it's not the craziest idea. Even if you take the spiritual part of *Peaky* out of the equation — which you shouldn't — there are many ways that fans could get more of Tommy in the future.

The most obvious answer? There's already a spinoff in the works! Set in the 1950s, it will be a sequel series following the events of the film as a new generation of Shelbys takes over.

The series description reads: "Britain, 1953. After being heavily bombed in WWII, Birmingham is building a better future out of concrete and steel. In a new era of Steven Knight's *Peaky Blinders*, the race to own Birmingham’s massive reconstruction project becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions. This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and danger, with the Shelby family right at its blood-soaked heart."

Furthermore, Knight says, "We start shooting the next era very soon, which is post-war but with a lot of the characters from the original. And it's all Birmingham again."

So if we were to see Tommy again, it's likely to occur within that spinoff, whether as a spirit, in flashback, or even in a dream. Or perhaps, we should just let Tommy be free.

*Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man* is now streaming on Netflix.
