Marvel is about to debut a different web-slinging hero in live-action.
Nicolas Cage's upcoming Spider-Man series *Spider-Noir* is not another version of Peter Parker. New posters for the Prime Video series have confirmed that Cage will actually be starring as the popular variant Ben Reilly.
The posters — shown in both black and white and color (below), because the series will also be available in both — introduce Cage as Ben, an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York. According to the official synopsis, he will be forced to grapple with his past life as the city's one and only superhero.

The posters show Ben's private investigator office door featuring his first initial and last name, with a spider hanging down from a web in front of it. Behind the frosted glass door, Cage's character can be seen in silhouette, clad in his signature hat and jacket with an upturned collar, with only his glowing white eyes clearly visible.
The tagline simply reads: "Nicolas Cage is *Spider-Noir*."

The upcoming live-action series is based on the Marvel comic *Spider-Man Noir, *with Cage reprising the fan-favorite character he voiced in 2018's *Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.*
In the comics, Spider-Man Noir is an alternate version of Peter Parker, so the change to Ben Reilly for the series is a surprise. However, comic book fans already know Ben Reilly, who is a clone of Peter Parker made to be his rival who instead becomes a close friend. Ben first debuted in *The Amazing Spider-Man* #149, published in 1975, and has since become a fan-favorite variant.
