Mark Sanchez shared a message about gratitude alongside photos of his wife, Perry Mattfeld, and their twin daughters in his second post on social media since he was involved in a stabbing incident on Oct. 6
In the post, the ex-Fox Sports analyst said he's "just grateful — to wake up, to be home, and to be able to wrap my arms around my wife and kids"
Sanchez thanked the people "who keep me standing and gave my family opportunities to share moments like these," without addressing the charges he is facing
Mark Sanchez shared a message about gratitude alongside photos of his wife and their two babies, following his October arrest in Indianapolis.
On Friday, Dec. 5, the former Fox Sports analyst, who the network confirmed on Nov. 7 was fired, posted two photos of his wife, Chad Powers actress Perry Mattfeld, and their two baby daughters.
"This time of year always makes me look around and appreciate what matters, but this one hits different," Sanchez, 39, wrote in his caption. "I’m just grateful—to wake up, to be home, and to be able to wrap my arms around my wife and kids."
The retired quarterback thanked "the people who keep me standing and gave my family opportunities to share moments like these," in the caption, adding, "From our family to yours, we wish you a happy and peaceful holiday season."

Sanchez, currently facing one felony charge (battery resulting in serious bodily injury) and three misdemeanor charges (battery resulting in bodily injury, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication that endangers the life of another) for his alleged role in the Oct. 6 incident that left 69-year-old Perry Tole hospitalized with serious injuries, did not address his recent dismissal from Fox Sports or the legal charges brought against him in the post.
Comments included friends of Sanchez sharing supportive messages, while others encouraged the father of two to disable his comments amid his charges.
"Love you Mark, from a 63 year-old Jet fan from Long Island. Been following your career since before and I hope everything works out for you. Now turn off the comments cause it’s gonna get hairy here," said one fan.
"Taking a stab at a heartwarming post," another user jokingly wrote.
Sanchez first broke his silence after the incident, which left him hospitalized with stab wounds as well, to mourn the loss of his former teammate Nick Mangold, who died on Oct. 25.

Sanchez was arrested after being hospitalized following the attack that police said occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 4 after Sanchez approached the door of a box truck and began talking to the driver in an alley between the Westin and Marriott hotels, the Indianapolis Star reported.
According to the outlet, police said Sanchez was seen in surveillance footage "running after [the man] and the video shows Mr. Sanchez grabbing and throwing [the man] towards the wall of the Westin.”
In court documents obtained by the outlet, the truck driver said that he thought the former quarterback was “trying to kill him” and that he stabbed Sanchez in self-defense.
