KFC is launching an ultra-limited 'Supergirl' Krypto bucket to rival movie theaters

Kentucky Fried Chicken is leaping into the viral, fandom-fueled movie merchandise wars with the launch of its ultra-limited Krypto Collectible Bucket and a new crossover with the highly anticipated movie Supergirl. While moviegoers have seen the unique popcorn buckets available at places like AMC, Cinemark, and major theme parks, the fast-food giant is set to join the mix ahead of DC Studios’ upcoming release.

The partnership will feature two aspects, with the first rolling out on June 8 at select locations nationwide. This is followed by the release of the Krypto Collectible Bucket just two days later, on June 10.

On June 8, participating KFC locations will offer the KFC Supergirl Ultimate Meal and Supergirl Combo Meal. The former includes either three original tenders or eight nuggets, a biscuit and two sides of your choosing. The Supergirl Combo Meal includes your choice of entree, a biscuit, one side and a drink.

However, one key difference between the two meals is that the KFC Super Girl Ultimate Meal will come with a collectible keychain featuring either Supergirl (one of two versions), Lobo, Ruthye and Krypto, the popular crime-fighting dog who was a fan favorite in Superman. The Supergirl Combo Meal does not include the keychain. Also available is a boba-filled drink called the Kryptonian Kooler, made with Starry soda, strawberry boba and blue raspberry syrup.

Next up is the release of the Krypto Collectible Bucket, which KFC has called "ultra-limited." It's a reusable bucket with a Krypto topper and film artwork, which costs $29.99.
