- Joy Behar was a bit of a Debbie Downer during *The View*'s chat about Oscar nominations.
- Whoopi Goldberg and Sara Haines praised *Sinners* and *The Perfect Neighbor* at the top of the segment.
- Behar jumped in to say she's only seen one movie and hopes winners give their Oscars to Trump so he doesn't "invade Finland."
Joy Behar just turned *The View*'s celebration of Oscars gold into a blue affair.
Hours after the 2026 Oscar nominations announcement, EGOT-winning actress and former Academy board member Whoopi Goldberg lauded the group's recognition of cinema excellence. The 70-year-old called out "*Sinners* leading the pack" by "scoring 16 nominations" as the audience cheered for the record-breaking feat.
"The most important thing was that *The Perfect Neighbor *received an Oscar nomination for Best Documentary," added cohost Sara Haines, honoring the emotional documentary "chronicling the killing of Ajike Owens in Florida," she said of the powerful film.

"Her kids, but also her mom, have been dear friends of the show. We were texting this morning in excitement because there's no exchange price for losing that kind of life, but to know the life continues, the story is told, and people [see] her life matters, and it continues to make a difference," Haines said. "I think that's what comforts Pam and those beautiful little babies."
Haines continued, urging the audience, "This is such an important thing, If you've done one thing for the world, watch that documentary."
Without missing a beat, Behar piggybacked off of Haines' emotional sentiment as she quipped, "Well, I hope whoever wins gives their Oscar to [Donald] Trump because I'm afraid if he doesn't get it, he'll invade Finland."**

Still, she continued, with Behar bringing the morale down even more with regard to the 2026 Academy Award nominations.
"The only movie I've seen on this entire list is *One Battle After Another*, so, I suggest that one," the 83-year-old said.
"We need to get you out more," said 36-year-old conservative cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin, chuckling at her cohost's admission.
Sunny Hostin brought the conversation back around to cinema excellence, exclaiming, "I thought *Sinners* was a very special movie, I've never seen anything like it, now it has the most nominations in Oscar history."

Smoke (Michael B. Jordan) and Sammie (Miles Caton) in 'Sinners'.
But, Goldberg was careful to warn her not to get too enthusiastic, all while Hostin attempted to highlight costume designer Ruth E. Carter becoming the most-nominated Black woman in Oscars history thanks to her latest nod for *Sinners*.
"Can we also mention Ruth Carter?" Hostin said, while Goldberg clapped back, "No, we can't, because it's mine," she said, while Hostin clarified that she thought Goldberg was going to cut her off to go to a commercial break.
"No, she wasn't going to say that, because she has to finish the rest of her stuff, because there's a lot of great folks on here," Goldberg said, with Behar paving the way for the *Ghost* star's closing remarks by deferring to "the only Oscar winner at the table!"
*The View* airs weekdays on ABC. The network will also broadcast the Oscars ceremony on Sunday, March 15.**
