High School Musical has left a lasting mark on pop culture but one star of the beloved franchise refuses to talk about the movies any longer.

According to cast member Bart Johnson, who portrayed Coach Bolton, the father ofZac Efron's character Troy Bolton, there's one HSM star who's so over looking back on that time in their career.

Ahead of the movie's upcoming 20th anniversary, Johnson launched his podcast, Get Your Head in the Game, a spin-off of theMagical Rewind podcast. Since its debut, he's interviewed many of the cast members as well as the crew and creative team.

With the big anniversary approaching, fans have been asking Johnson about what other cast members can be expected to appear on the podcast. So far, stars including Vanessa Hudgens, Lucas Grabeel and Kaycee Stroh have joined him for a conversation—and Johnson said there are more to come.

"EVERY cast member has been invited to be on the podcast. Almost got everyone!!" Johnson wrote in a now-deleted post on X on Thursday (Dec. 5). "3 are trying hard to make their schedule work and only ONE cast member said, 'No. I've talked about this movie for 20 years and I'm done talking about it."

To clarify, Johnson noted that it wasn't Efron who turned down the opportunity but didn't say who made the choice to step back.

After the post caught the attention of HSM fans, Johnson deleted his initial comment and went on to share an extended message about his goal to speak with "ALL the actors, dancers, singers and filmmakers" from the franchise. He added that he understood that everyone involved "has been interviewed to death" through the years but he wanted to bring a "different, more personal and insightful take" on the podcast.

"I've been overwhelmed, touched, and so grateful for everyone's effort to come on and share some of their favorite memories, private things they've never shared before, and how much the franchise and the fans mean to them," he wrote, praising his guests for their "great sacrifice and effort" to take part.

He went on to say, "A few cast members are working out of the country, juggling schedules, and doing their best to make it happen. Shooting schedules can be so demanding and the unpredictable hours get LONG. Again, everyone has been invited and almost everyone has already been a guest on the podcast. It’s been the best reunion I could have ever hoped for."

A lot of people have been asking, so let mw clear it up: EVERY member of the cast has been invited on the podcast. My goal was to get ALL the actors, dancers, singers and filmmakers. ALL of them!! I’ve been overwhelmed, touched, and so grateful for everyone’s effort to come on…

As for the one cast member who did not want to appear on the podcast, Johnson confirmed that he was told, "No. I've been talking about this film for 20 years and I'm done talking about it." He noted that he was not offended and completely understood.

"I didn't take it personally at all—and nobody else should either! I actually thought it was hilarious, and I can guarantee you I'll eventually get this person on the podcast. We'll talk about it, have a good laugh. Promise!!" Johnson wrote.

He continued, "It's all good. We're all human, and we're all entitled to feeling tired of the same old stuff sometimes. I don't take it personally, and neither should you. Just know that the abundance of love and gratitude everyone has for the fans—and for this franchise that changed EVERYONE'S lives—is 100% real."

Johnson chose not to reveal the cast member so only time will tell if he's able to get them on the podcast.
