Mark Ballas and Derek Hough just teased an upcoming project with none other than Boston Rob Mariano and Dylan Efron.
On Instagram Monday, Dec. 22, Ballas posted a clip of the group hanging out in what appeared to be a dance studio. In the video, he and Hough lip-synced to a remix of an audio of Jeff Probst commenting on Mariano's dominant game during one of his Survivor seasons.
"Something fun coming soon 👀," Ballas captioned the post.

While the group hasn't shared what the upcoming project is yet — it may be for Efron and Mariano's new YouTube series Everything’s a Competition. Available on Efron’s YouTube channel, the show chronicles the pair going head-to-head in a series of unique competitions.
In a trailer released on Dec. 1, the duo are seen taking on a variety of challenges including pickleball, blindfolded golf, beer pong, painting, pottery-making — and even a duel at Medieval Times.
“I grew up watching Survivor. I always thought I could win all of these challenges,” Efron says in the trailer. “Now here’s my chance to beat Boston Rob at literally everything.”

Of the group featured in Ballas' post, Mariano is the only one who hasn't competed on Dancing With The Stars. Efron and Ballas participated in season 34 as a contestant and pro, respectively, while Hough was a professional dancer on the series before transitioning into the role of judge.
Recently, Hough challenged Mariano to join the dancing show — even promising to go on Survivor if Mariano agrees to take the ballroom floor.
“Boston Rob asked me the other day when I saw him, he goes, ‘Hey, would you ever do it?’” Hough said via his Instagram Story in early December. “Here’s my thought. I’ll do Survivor if Boston Rob does Dancing With the Stars.”
From behind the camera, Hough's wife Hayley chimed in, saying, “I don’t know if I’d put that out there.”
It’s not clear how serious Hough was being, but regardless, Survivor's host has already co-signed the idea.
“I gotta say, I love that you just put this idea out into the ether because I think you’re gonna be surprised how many of your fans are going to want to see you compete on Survivor,” Jeff Probst said via Instagram. “And now that you’ve issued a dare to Rob, this could get interesting, ’cause you know as well as I do that Boston Rob is the kind of guy that will take that dare and end up winning Dancing With the Stars.”
