Chipotle is giving fans a chance to win over $2 million in prizes through their Burrito Vault: Double Protein Edition online game

Each hour between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. from March 30 to April 1, fans have the opportunity to win BOGO offers, double protein deals and even free burritos for a year

The chain is also offering a $0 delivery fee on April 2 to celebrate National Burrito Day

Chipotle is celebrating National Burrito Day by giving customers a chance to play for free food.

For the third year running, the chain is launching their Burrito Vault online game from Monday, March 30, to Wednesday, April 1, giving players the chance to win buy one, get one (BOGO) entrees, double protein or even free burritos for a year, per a press release.

Burrito Vault: Double Protein Edition allows Chipotle Rewards members in the U.S. and Canada to have a chance to unlock prizes if they guess an hourly burrito order combination from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. The game will offer over $2 million in prizes to be redeemed on Thursday, April 2.

Players get four tries per hour to guess the burrito order and can win at most one BOGO entree or double protein during the campaign, along with the chance to compete for the grand prize of free burritos for a year.

The first player to unlock the vault each hour gets free burritos for a year. There are 3,600 BOGO entree prizes per hour, after which 2,000 double protein awards can be won. No purchase is required to play the game.

The new-and-improved game will feature a Double Protein Power Hour mode, which will occur once each day of the promotion. In this mode, for an hour, the number of prizes is doubled, and each prize will include double protein.

During the Double Protein Power Hour, the first two players who unlock the vault win free double protein burritos for a year. 7,200 BOGO entree prizes will be offered in this hour, then 4,000 double protein rewards.

Customers can find the game at UnlockBurritoDay.com.

Chipotle is also offering a $0 delivery fee offer on digital orders over $10 placed through the app or websites Chipotle.com or Chipotle.ca on April 2 at participating U.S. and Canada locations with the use of the promo code DELIVER. The release noted that higher menu prices are charged for delivery.

The chain said that they are hoping to cater to a greater focus on protein in customers’ diets with the game.

"With more than 3.5 million plays last year, Burrito Vault generated record-breaking engagement with our fans," said Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle’s Interim Chief Marketing Officer. "Bringing the game back for a third year allows us to build on that momentum while highlighting our clean protein as more consumers prioritize protein-packed meals that don't compromise on quality."

“Burrito Vault: High Protein Edition transforms consumers' growing focus on protein into an interactive digital experience,” the release said.

Other focuses on protein include the brand's new High Protein Menu, that features items like the Double High Protein Bowl, the High Protein–High Fiber Bowl, the High Protein Cup and other items containing anywhere from 15 to 81 grams of protein per item.

Last year, the Burrito Vault's total winnings were worth $1 million, giving away 2,500 BOGO offers an hour.

"Inspired by the popularity of word puzzles, Burrito Vault was played more than two million times in 2024, and prizes were claimed in under 20 minutes," the chain said in a press release last year.
