Andy Sachs, we’ve missed you.
The countdown to TheDevil Wears Prada 2 is officially underway, and if we’ve learned anything from recent Wuthering Heights, Wicked, or The Drama press runs, it’s that method dressing is still alive and well—and it seems the cast of DWP2 is already leaning in.
As promotion for the film kicked off in Mexico City yesterday afternoon, Anne Hathaway, a.k.a. Andy, chose to make nods to two of the most iconic moments from the original film.

For starters, Hathaway arrived to the Mexican capital sporting a custom white hoodie that was shown off by stylist Ashley Afriyie on her Instagram Story.
This was no nondescript sweatshirt though, because on the back, a blue square emulating a printer’s color block was stamped in the center, with the word “cerulean” written in Spanish underneath. Of course, who could forget the scene where Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep) explains to Andy why her cerulean sweater is a direct result of high-fashion trends? (Fittingly enough, the color has become all the rage once again.)

Underneath, a fake HTML color code was even included, using the acronym of Hathaway’s new sequel, as well as the release date (May 1, 2026), for a cheeky touch. When it comes to method dressing, it’s all about the details.
But that wasn’t the only reference Hathaway snuck in yesterday. Later in the night, Harper's Bazaar's April 2026 cover star walked the red carpet alongside Streep, where she wore an ensemble pulled straight from the Stella McCartney Fall/Winter 2026 ready-to-wear collection.

Back in 2006, Andy Sachs caught the eye of her co-workers when she wore “the Chanel boots,” so 20 years later, Hathaway decided to pick her own statement footwear, in the form of a chocolate leather ruched thigh-high pair of boots from Stella McCartney.

Styled by Erin Walsh, the boots were paired with a hot-pink minidress, the same design that they were originally coupled with on the runway. The sequined crew-neck dress was defined by its wide shoulders and a flouncy flared skirt with dramatic folds. The eye-catching look made a strong statement to help kick off the press tour.
With a little over a month left to go before The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits theaters, chances are that Hathaway and her stylists have plenty more references in store.
